1.1 The Basic Prompt Formula
Start with three required parts — genre, mood, and texture — then add instruments, tempo, or vocal style. Lyria's strength is coherence: one clear idea executed well beats five ideas competing.

Genre
The musical lane: cinematic ambient, acoustic folk, synthwave. Lyria is strongest when the genre is unambiguous.
Mood

Instruments
Name the leads: solo cello, fingerpicked guitar, modular synth arpeggios.
Tempo
Slow drift, mid-tempo sway, driving pulse — pace sets energy.
Vocal Style
If vocals: breathy female, gospel choir, spoken word. Lyria picks the singer; you describe the delivery.

Cinematic ambient with a nostalgic 80s glow — warm analog synth pads, a slow pulsing bassline, distant electric guitar swells. Golden-hour highway mood, wide and unhurried.

1.2 Genre Blending
Lyria handles fusion well when you name a dominant genre and one accent: 'jazz with electronic textures' works; a list of five genres doesn't. Pick a center of gravity.
Jazz-Electronica Fusion

One dominant lane (nu-jazz) + one accent (electronica). The 'meets' phrasing tells the model which side leads.

Lyria 3's signature move: feed it images and it composes music that matches what they feel like. Up to 10 images per generation — a mood board becomes a soundtrack.
2.1 Single Image, Single Mood
One strong image plus a short text steer is the fastest path: the image sets the emotional floor, your words pick the genre and instrumentation.

2.2 Mood Boards and Series
Multiple images give Lyria a richer emotional map — a photo series from one trip, a brand's visual palette, a film's reference stills. Keep them thematically coherent; mixed signals make muddy music.

03 Pro vs Clip: Picking the Tier
Lyria 3 Pro writes full-length songs with complete arrangements. Lyria 3 makes 30-second clips — half the credits, instant iteration. Same prompt language; different ambitions.
3.1 When to Use Pro
Use Pro when the music is the content: a song for release, a full underscore, anything with a verse-chorus arc. The arrangement has room to develop — intro, build, climax, outro.
Full-Length Ballad

A heartfelt piano ballad that builds to a soaring orchestral finale — intimate verses, then strings and drums carry the last chorus home. Bittersweet, cinematic, complete.

3.2 When a Clip Is Enough

04 Lyrics and Boundaries
Lyria 3 sings when you give it lyrics — or when you let it write its own. Unlike Suno's custom mode, lyrics are always optional: paste them in, ask the AI lyric writer, or stay instrumental.
4.1 Optional Custom Lyrics
Paste lyrics into the lyrics box and Lyria sings them — your prompt still controls the music, the lyrics control the voice. Leave it empty and the model improvises vocals around your prompt.
Vocal Hook on a Beat

4.2 Staying Instrumental
The instrumental switch keeps the output pure music — no vocals, no half-sung fragments. For underscore, focus playlists, and ambient work, it's the reliable default.
