Introduction

Molyin ("Molyin", "we", "us") is an AI creation platform that lets you generate videos — and, over time, other kinds of media — from text prompts and your own reference material. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Molyin is operated as a global service. It is not directed at, and is not offered to, users in mainland China. This policy is provided in English, which is the governing version.

Information We Collect

1. Account Information

When you sign up — with Google or with your email address (magic link or one-time code) — we collect your email address, display name, and profile picture. We do not use passwords, so we never store one.

2. Content You Create

The core of Molyin is your creative input, so we process and store:

  • Prompts: the text descriptions you submit for generation
  • Reference material: images, video clips, and audio you upload to guide a generation
  • Generated outputs: the videos our service produces for you
  • Generation settings: model, duration, resolution, and similar parameters, kept as part of your creation history

3. Payment Information

All payments are processed by Stripe. We keep records of your orders, subscription status, and credit balance, but your full card details never touch our servers — they are handled entirely by Stripe.

4. Sign-up Attribution

When you create an account we record, once, how you found us: your IP address and approximate country, browser and device type, screen size, language, time zone, the page that referred you, campaign (UTM) parameters, and the first page you landed on. We use this solely to understand which channels bring creators to Molyin.

5. Usage and Security Data

  • Session records: IP address and browser information tied to your login sessions, used to keep your account secure
  • Analytics: we use Google Analytics and Plausible Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, general location, device type)
  • Credit ledger: an append-only record of every credit you receive and spend, kept so your balance is always auditable

6. Communications

If you submit feedback, contact support, or subscribe to our newsletter, we keep the messages and contact details you provide so we can respond and follow up.

7. Browser Extension

Our official browser extension (the Molyin sidebar) signs you in with the same session cookie the website sets and adds no data collection of its own. The extension sends that cookie only to Molyin's own API — the same service the dashboard talks to — to display your creations and account state in the sidebar. It does not store your credentials, does not contact any other domain, and shares nothing with third parties.

How We Use Your Information

  • Running the service: generating your videos, managing your account, credits, and subscriptions, and showing you your creation history
  • Billing: processing purchases, renewals, and refunds through Stripe
  • Security and fraud prevention: protecting accounts, rate-limiting abuse, and acting on fraud signals from our payment processor
  • Improving Molyin: analyzing aggregate usage to decide what to build next
  • Communication: transactional emails (sign-in links, receipts, payment issues) and, if you have not opted out, occasional product updates — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link

Your Content and AI Processing

This section matters most on a platform like ours, so we want to be precise:

  • Your prompts and reference material are sent to third-party AI infrastructure providers (such as Replicate and fal.ai) solely to produce the output you requested. These providers apply their own content-safety filters and process your content under their own terms.
  • We do not use your prompts, uploads, or outputs to train AI models.
  • We do not publish, showcase, or promote your creations without asking for your explicit consent first, on a per-work basis.

Content Storage and Retention

Your uploads and generated videos are stored on Cloudflare R2. How long a finished creation's files are kept depends on your current plan: 7 days on the free tier and entry subscription, 30 or 90 days on higher subscription tiers, as described on our pricing page. When the retention window for a creation ends, its video files and uploaded reference material are permanently deleted from storage. Your creation history (prompt and settings) remains visible in your dashboard for as long as your account exists.

Reference material you upload but never use in a generation is treated as temporary and automatically deleted within a few days.

Please download anything you want to keep — deleted files cannot be recovered.

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make Molyin work:

  • Payments: Stripe (payment processing, fraud screening)
  • AI generation: AI infrastructure providers (such as Replicate and fal.ai), which receive your prompts and reference material to fulfill generations
  • Storage and delivery: Cloudflare (file storage and content delivery)
  • Email: our email delivery provider, which receives your email address and name to send you the emails described above
  • Analytics: Google Analytics and Plausible Analytics
  • Monitoring and operations: error-monitoring tooling, and internal team notifications (for example, when you submit feedback, its content and your contact details are relayed to our private team channel so we can respond)

We may also disclose information when we believe in good faith that it is required by law, or necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Molyin, our users, or others.

Cookies

We use two kinds of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: required for signing in and keeping your session secure — the service cannot work without them
  • Analytics cookies: set by Google Analytics to help us understand site usage (Plausible is cookie-free)

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in.

Data Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS. Payment details are handled exclusively by Stripe. Access to production data is restricted, our database enforces row-level security, and credits are tracked in an append-only ledger so balances cannot be silently altered. No system is perfectly secure, but we design ours so that a single failure does not expose your data.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and correction: view and update your account details in your dashboard, or ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Deletion: to delete your account, contact us at the address below and we will process the deletion promptly. Deleting your account permanently removes your personal account data and the uploads and generated videos in your personal workspace; any residual copies in temporary storage are automatically purged within 30 days at the latest. Creations you made in a team workspace were paid for by that team: they remain available to the team until their normal retention window ends (at most 90 days), then they are permanently deleted, and they are no longer linked to you. Billing and transaction records are retained in de-identified form (no longer linked to you) as required for financial compliance, and records held by our payment processor are retained by them for the same reason. If you own a team, ownership must be transferred or the team wound down before your account can be deleted.
  • Marketing opt-out: every newsletter email contains a one-click unsubscribe link
  • Analytics opt-out: block analytics cookies in your browser, or use standard opt-out tools

To exercise any right you cannot exercise directly in the dashboard, contact us at the address below. We respond to privacy requests within 30 days.

International Data Transfers

We operate globally, and the providers listed above process data in various countries. Wherever your data is processed, it is protected by the terms of this policy and by our contracts with those providers.

Children's Privacy

Molyin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Purchases require you to be at least 18 or have the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves — for example, when we add new creation modes. Significant changes will be announced on the site, and the "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
