Suno reads scale words literally: 'intimate' stays small, 'stadium' goes wide. Texture words — gritty, glassy, airy — steer the mix more than genre tags do.

Epic cinematic orchestral — a lone cello motif over taiko drums, building to a full brass climax. Vast, heroic, end-of-trailer energy.
Scale words do the heavy lifting: 'lone' then 'full brass' gives the arrangement an arc. Instrumental stays on so the mix stays clean.
02 Custom Mode: Full Control
Flip on Custom mode and Suno 5.5 hands you the producer's chair: title, style, your own lyrics, vocal gender, and exact length. Non-custom is for speed; custom is for intent.

2.2 Vocal Gender and Length

04 Instrumental and Length Control
Instrumental mode strips the vocal line entirely — no lyrics needed, no accidental singing. Combined with the duration slider it's the fastest way to score content.
4.1 Pure Instrumentals
With the instrumental switch on, the lyrics box disappears and the prompt carries everything. Be more specific about arrangement than you would for a vocal track — there's no singer to hold attention.
Ambient Focus Pad

Ambient instrumental for deep focus — warm analog pads, a slow pulsing sub, distant piano notes every few bars. No drums, no melody hooks, just space.
Instrumental on, and the prompt explicitly says what to leave out. Absence is arrangement.
