Muse Image: Meta's Agentic AI Image Generator

Muse Image is the first image model from Meta Superintelligence Labs — an agentic generator that plans compositions, searches the live web, and refines its own output. Here's what it does, where to use it, and how to create with its closest rivals while you wait.

What it is
Meta's agentic AI image model: text-to-image, precision photo editing, and multi-reference composition.
Where to use it
Free inside the Meta AI app, meta.ai, Instagram, and WhatsApp; heavy use needs a Meta One subscription.

Muse Image Alternatives You Can Use Today

Muse Image is preselected in the generator below, marked coming soon — it activates the day Meta opens access. Until then, the models Meta benchmarks Muse against, GPT Image 2 and Nano Banana Pro, are live: same prompt box, same credits.

FLUX isn't generating yet — it activates the day Meta opens access.

What Is Muse Image?

Muse Image is Meta's AI image generation model, announced on July 7, 2026 as the first image release from Meta Superintelligence Labs. Unlike conventional generators that render a prompt in a single pass, Muse works alongside the Muse Spark reasoning model to plan a composition first, then draft, critique, and refine its own output — behavior Meta says emerged during reinforcement-learning training rather than being explicitly programmed.

That agentic loop shows in the results: generations grounded in live web search stay accurate for current events and real places, in-image text comes out legible, charts are computed rather than guessed, and artistic QR codes actually scan. On the editing side, Muse restores old photos, removes unwanted objects, and blends people, products, and styles from several reference photos into one coherent image. Every output carries Content Seal, Meta's invisible watermark, verifiable with a public detector at meta.ai.

For now, Muse Image lives only inside Meta's consumer apps — there is no way to plug it into outside tools. That's why it appears as coming soon in Molyin's AI image generator: the slot is ready, and until it activates you can create with the very models Meta benchmarks Muse against, on one credit system that covers them all.

What Muse Image Can Do

Meta positions Muse Image as a reasoning-first model rather than a plain prompt-to-pixels generator. Its headline capabilities:

Agentic Generation

Works with the Muse Spark model to plan a composition before rendering, then self-refines its drafts — behavior Meta says emerged during reinforcement-learning training.

Live Search Grounding

Invokes web search at generation time, so images about current events or real places reflect up-to-date information.

Precision Editing

Edits existing photos with instructions or by drawing markup directly on the image — restore old photos, remove photobombers, adjust fine details.

Multi-Reference Composition

Blends people, products, clothing, styles, and environments from multiple input photos into one coherent image.

Legible Text & Functional QR

Renders readable in-image typography and executes code for accurate charts and scannable artistic QR codes.

Content Seal Watermark

Every output carries Meta's invisible watermark, built to survive cropping, compression, and screenshots, with a public detector hosted at meta.ai.

How to Access Muse Image

Muse Image is rolling out region by region across Meta's consumer surfaces. Four ways to try it:

  1. 1

    Meta AI app

Update to the latest Meta AI app on iOS or Android and ask for an image in any conversation — the fastest route if your region is enabled.

  2. 2

    meta.ai on the web

Sign in at meta.ai with your Meta account and prompt Muse straight from the browser — no install needed.

  3. 3

    Instagram

Muse powers image creation inside Instagram, rolling out in the US first — look for the AI creation entry in stories and direct messages.

  4. 4

    WhatsApp

In selected countries, chat with Meta AI inside WhatsApp and request images; Facebook and Messenger integration is announced as coming.

Everyday use is free with an undisclosed generation cap. Meta One Plus ($7.99/mo) or Premium ($19.99/mo) raises image and video limits.
